CALAPAN CITY, OR. MINDORO โ€“ DOLE MIMAROPA through its National Skills Registry Program (NSRP) Team conducted a one-day orientation on the systems of PESO Employment Information System (PEIS) and PhilJobNet. It was a hybrid seminar with 6 face-to-face and 20 Zoom attendees held at Vencioโ€™s Garden Hotel, Calapan City on 28 July 2022.

Participants for this seminar are the different Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Managers and their staff. The programs aim to be a digital platform for the ease of access of jobseekers in looking for job opportunities and in creating a skills registry pool specific in their area.

Topics discussed were:
– Basics of NSRP and Employer User Guide by Ms. Joanna Marie Agutaya
– Jobseeker User Guide by Ms. Karen Jane Sangalang
– Refresher, discussion and open forum facilitated by the Regional Information Systems Analyst, Mr. John Christopher T. Gunday.

โ€œThese evolved programs will to collate information from employers, establishments and jobseekers so that job matching and monitoring of skills registry will be easier on the level of PESO’s. We (the Department) thank you for your assistance in implementing these types of programs. We look forward to having these programs be implemented in the municipality, city and school levels.โ€ ARD Erwin N. Aquino mentioned in his message.

The National Skills Registration Program (NSRP) is a Program initiated by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) with the main objective of maintaining a continuing nationwide skills registry through its Skills Registry System (SRS) database. It is an employment facilitation machinery of DOLE which aims to cover all the cities/municipalities with operating Public Employment Service Offices (PESOโ€™s). The PESO Employment Information System (PEIS) is the enhanced version of the Skills Registry System. It is a database of active manpower supply containing the profiles of all persons and employers registered under the NSRP. It shows information on the qualifications and skills of the applicants as well as the job vacancies posted by the employers. This registry is maintained and updated by all participating PESOโ€™s nationwide. PhilJobNet promotes partnership with the private sector and helps employers meet their manpower needs. It also provides a facility for the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and their LGU’s partners in the business sector to have access to the Department of Labor’s skills registry under the DOLE’s National Skills Registration Program (NSRP).
