𝘉𝘰𝘢𝘤, 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘶𝘲𝘶𝘦 – On 18 January 2023, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Marinduque Field Office together with Office of the Congressman Lord Allan Jay Velasco (LAV), Provincial Government of Marinduque (PGM) through Livelihood and Manpower Development – Public Employment Services Office (LMD-PESO) & Provincial Agriculture Office, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) and Association of Barangay Councils (ABC) Municipal Presidents convened in preparation of the provincewide implementation of Tulong Panghanapbuhay Para sa Ating Displaced/ Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) program held at RADA, Brgy. Laylay, Boac, Marinduque.

Present during the meeting were Provincial Agriculturist Mr. Ed De Luna, Livelihood and Manpower Development – Public Employment Service Office (LMD-PESO) Provincial PESO Manager Ms. Alma Timtiman, Field Office Head Mr. Philip T. Alano, Senior LEO Mr. Marjun S. Moreno, LEO II Mr. Ken Aldrin Jalac, and representatives from the Office of the Congressman Velasco, DENR, and Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA). Also, Association of Barangay Councils (ABC) Presidents from the six municipalities attended the said gathering.

During the meeting, partner agencies agreed to support the advocacy of our local leaders in creating greener communities and surrounding through the emergency employment program.

A total of more than 49,000 beneficiaries will benefit from the TUPAD program and will engage in clean and green community projects for ten (10) days. The implementation will be divided into four (4) batches wherein beneficiaries will focus on planting 𝘯𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘢, 𝘣𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘢 and golden shower trees. Also, fruit bearing trees like 𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘣𝘶𝘵𝘢𝘯, 𝘥𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘩𝘪𝘵𝘢, 𝘨𝘶𝘺𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘯𝘰, 𝘤𝘢𝘤𝘢𝘰, 𝘤𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘪, 𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘴 and ornamental plants will be planted on numerous identified areas around the province. TUPAD workers will also be utilized in planting dwarf coconut trees, soft-wood trees and in the establishment or expansion of community and vegetable gardens in every barangay.
