RIZAL, OCCIDENTAL MINDORO – On December 2, 2022, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-Occidental Mindoro Field Office participated in a career guidance program initiated by the Rizal National High School and Manoot National High School, Rizal, Occidental Mindoro. This is to provide the total of 426 participating students from Grades 10 to 12 with relevant information that could guide them in making informed career choices.
DOLE OccMin Labor and Employment Officer I Kevin S. Faderog presented various modules on labor market information, career and employment coaching, life skills, interest profiling, Philippine Top 10 Key Employment Generators, digital careers, top 10 job skills for the future, personal branding, resume and cover letter writing, job interviews preparation and DOLE’s employment facilitation services and program.
Mr. Faderog also explained that the career and employment coaching services are given to graduating high school students to inform them about the most in-demand and hard-to-fill occupations in the region and across the country, as well as the factors to consider in deciding which course to take after graduation or how to land in jobs successfully.
While the students are probably thrilled about graduating from high school, choosing career tracks that they intend to pursue through informed career choices towards becoming productive and contributing individuals is very significant.
The career guidance advocacy and employment coaching seminars are part of DOLE’s advocacy efforts for the youth to help address the changing needs of the labor market through the dissemination of relevant Labor Market Information through its Career Guidance and Advocacy Program.
