๐˜‰๐˜ฐ๐˜ข๐˜ค, ๐˜”๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ๐˜ถ๐˜ฒ๐˜ถ๐˜ฆ โ€“ On 21 October 2022, Department of Labor and Employment – Marinduque Field Office facilitated an orientation on Republic Act No. 11313 to management and workers of SIM Insurance. Attended by 17 participants, the Safe Spaces Act Orientation mainly aims to provide basic knowledge to the management and workers on the salient features of the said law.

Mr. Marjun Moreno, Senior Labor and Employment Officer of DOLE-Marinduque briefed the management and workers on the scope and provisions of RA 11313 specifically on Gender-Based Sexual Harassment (GBSH) in the Workplace. The discussant presented the different acts of GBSH in the workplace and the duties of both the employer and employees as stated in Rule VI of the said law. The need to formulate Code of Conduct and create Committee on Decorum and Investigation (CODI) to investigate and address complaints on GBSH were also emphasized.

RA 11313, the Safe Spaces Act, previously known as โ€œBawal Bastosโ€ Law aims to create a safer environment for everyone by penalizing all forms of gender-based sexual harassment in the streets and public spaces, including workplaces, schools and online spaces.
