PUERTO GALERA, OR. MINDORO – On 16 November 2022, DOLE MIMAROPA Technical Support Service Division facilitated the 4th quarterly Regional Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (RTIPC) hybrid meeting at Casa Marco, White Beach, Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro with 16 attendees including DOLE MIMAROPA Regional and Field Office focal persons together with employer and labor sector representatives.

Agenda of the meeting were the following:

1. Recap of the accomplishments of the RTIPC for CY 2022 specifically the 5 resolutions adopted presented by Atty. Shirley Marie C. QuiΓ±ones, to wit:
a. Resolution 1: A RESOLUTION FOR THE GUIDANCE OF ALL MIMAROPA DOLE REGULATED ESTABLISHMENTS ENCOURAGING THE PAYMENT OF ISOLATION AND QUARANTINE LEAVES OF EMPLOYEES IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR
b. Resolution 2: A RESOLUTION FOR THE ADOPTION OF THE GUIDELINES ON THE PAYMENT OF WAGES FOR EMPLOYEES IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR IN MIMAROPA WHO WILL ACCOMPANY THEIR CHILDREN FOR VACCINATION.
c. Resolution 3: A RESOLUTION FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE POLICY ON GENDER-BASED SEXUAL HARASSMENT IN THE WORKPLACE AS PROVIDED UNDER THE SAFE SPACES ACT (RA 11313) IN DOLE REGULATED

ESTABLISHMENTS IN MIMAROPA.

d. Resolution 4: A RESOLUTION FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE RULES ON THE CERTIFICATION OF FIRST AIDERS IN MIMAROPA ESTABLISHMENTS.
e. Resolution 5: A RESOLUTION FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE RULES ON SUSPENSION OF WORK IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR BY REASON OF WEATHER DISTURBANCES AND SIMILAR OCCURENCES IN MIMAROPA.

2. Review and discussion of Constitution and By-laws by Mr. Marjun S. Moreno

3. Election of new officers facilitated by Mr. Edralin Magcalayo:
a. Vice Chairperson for Management: Ms. Nanette M. Geronimo – PCCI Or. Mindoro
b. Vice Chairperson for Labor Sector: Mr. Ruel Peralta – Rio Tuba Nickel Workers’ Union
c. Secretary – Ms. Donna Bella D. Cayanan – PCCI Or. Mindoro

4. Oath taking of the new officers facilitated by DOLE MIMAROPA Asst. Regional Director, Atty. Erwin N. Aquino.

During the meeting, ARD Aquino reiterated RTIPC’s responsibility being an advisory and consultative body for the employer and labor sector.

MIMAROPA RTIPC was established by virtue of Executive Order No. 49, series of 1998, institutionalizing the establishment and creation of Tripartite Industrial Peace Councils (TIPC) in the regional, provincial, city, municipal and industry-based levels as part of the country’s commitment to International Labor Organization (ILO) Convention No. 144, Tripartite Consultation (International Labour Standards) Convention, 1976.
