๐˜”๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ๐˜ถ๐˜ฒ๐˜ถ๐˜ฆ ๐˜—๐˜ณ๐˜ฐ๐˜ท๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜ค๐˜ฆ – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) MIMAROPA thru its Marinduque Field Office in partnership with the Provincial Government of Marinduque (PGM) and Office of Congressman Lord Allan Jay Velasco conducted simultaneous orientation and contract signing to 6,700 beneficiaries under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay para sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) program last November 23-25 & 29, 2022 at municipalities of Boac, Buenavista, Gasan, Mogpog, Sta. Cruz, and Torrijos.

This is the third tranche of the provincewide TUPAD implementation with a total amount of Php 127,300,000.00 fund covering 22,976 beneficiaries.

Prior to the community engagement, each beneficiary was provided with the basic orientation on safety and health at work; Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the form of long sleeves, cap, facemasks and gloves; TUPAD ID and will be enrolled in GSIS accident insurance for a year.

Under the said program, the beneficiaries shall engage in the following tasks for 13 days: (1) social community projects, such as eco-tourism, repair, and/or improvement of common public facilities, debris clearing, and de clogging of canals; (2) economic community projects like repair and/or rehabilitation of farm-to-market roads, bridges, post-harvest facilities and public markets; and (3) agro-forestry community projects, such as tree planting and seedling preparation.

Moreover, Field Office Head Mr. Philip T. Alano felt hopeful and overwhelmed to witness thousands of people benefit from the TUPAD program and he ensured to promote gainful employment for all. Likewise, Provincial Administrator Mr. Vincent Michael Velasco shared the same sentiment and felt grateful to this kind of program which truly improves the lives of Marinduqueรฑos. Also present during the orientation are personnel from District Office and PGM.

TUPAD is a component of DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP) which is a community-based (municipality/barangay) package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and unemployed poor, for a minimum period of ten days, but not to exceed a maximum of 30 days, depending on the nature of work to be performed.
