CALAPAN CITY, ORIENTAL MINDORO – The DOLE Oriental Mindoro Field Office assisted 18 construction workers in getting their salaries and 13th month pay last November 8, 2021 via the Department’s Single Entry Approach Program (SEnA).
On September 10, 2021, a group of 18 workers from various residents of Oriental Mindoro sought the assistance of DOLE OrMin on their delayed salaries and pro-rated 13th month pay claims against a construction company based in Bulacan with an on-going project in Calapan City. The said request was docketed for conciliation-mediation conference under the SEnA Program.
On September 15, 2021, upon the counselling of the SEnA Desk Officer and considering that the company was experiencing financial difficulties, both the workers’ and employer’s representative agreed to a partial settlement of Php143,536.00 to cover one month of delayed salary of the complainants. The parties then entered into Settlement Agreement wherein the remaining claims are to be paid once the company collected its billing from its client.
On November 8, 2021, the affected workers was grateful as they received from their company the remaining monetary claims amounting to Php176,030.00, now settling and closing the said docketed request for assistance.
From January 2021 to October 2021, DOLE OrMin had settled 35 requests for assistance via the SEnA program with monetary compensations. The total amount of benefits paid so far is Php1,066,366.12 benefitting 106 workers.
Single Entry Approach or SEnA is an administrative approach that provides a speedy, impartial, inexpensive and accessible settlement procedure of all labor issues or conflicts to prevent such from maturing into actual labor case.
