GASAN, MARINDUQUE –the DOLE MIMAROPA through its Marinduque Field Office conducted a seminar on Labor Education to 65 PTIPC/ITC (Provincial Tripartite Industrial Peace Council/Industry Tripartite Council) officers and members last 16 February 2022 at Luxor Resort & Restaurant, Pangi, Gasan, Marinduque.

Attendees are from the industries of education, consumer goods and services, health care, and utilities. The objective of the activity is to increase awareness on labor standards, thus, increasing the compliance of employers to existing labor laws.

The topics were:

  • General Labor Standards and Occupational Safety and Health Standards both discussed by Mr. Marjun Moreno, Senior LEO.

  • DTI and DOLE Interim Guidelines on Workplace Intervention and Control of COVID-19, Safety Seal Program and CAMP 3 were all discussed by Engr. Conie Sartillo, FNLI.

In her message, Regional Director Naomi Lyn C. Abellana, expressed her gratitude and shared her firm stand on educating oneself about labor laws and mission on promoting more programs and stepping up services and strengthening partnerships amidst pandemic. “When the economy of Marinduque is that good or growing, that is where industrial peace would come in. Industrial peace is a situation in the economy wherein the producers, workers, employers and employee are both growing equally, equivocally. And no one is left behind,” she said.

The Labor and Employment Education Services (LEES) through labor education seminar aims to increase awareness on workers and employers’ rights and responsibilities, work ethics, values, and skills to contribute in fostering a more cooperative labor-management relations and the attainment of decent and productive work environment.
