ORIENTAL MINDORO – To affirm its compliance with the minimum public health and safety standards set by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) against the COVID-19 virus, the Department of Labor and Employment MIMAROPA Region thru its Oriental Mindoro Field Office awarded a SAFETY SEAL CERTIFICATION to Greatlakes Hardware and Construction on 20 August 2021.

Greatlakes Hardware and Construction (formerly Great Lakes Enterprises) engages in retail of construction materials and construction activities such as concreting of roads and construction of public buildings in Oriental Mindoro.

The company was subjected to inspection on 12 August 2021 to determine its compliance with labor standards and minimum public health and safety protocols based on DTI and DOLE Guidelines on Workplace Prevention and Control of COVID-19. Based on the results of inspection, they have been found to be compliant with the minimum public health and safety protocols such as compliance with registration requirements (e.g., Business Permit, DTI Registration), using of QR code for contact tracing, wearing of face masks and face shields for employees and clients, physical distancing, disinfection and health and safety signages among others.

“This safety seal signifies the result of establishment’s earnest effort of complying with public health standards as mandated by the government. Aside from ensuring the public of its commitment to safeguard and protect the health and safety of its employees, it also boosts the confidence of its clients and stakeholders against the threat of COVID-19 virus” DOLE MIMAROPA Regional Director Atty. Joffrey M. Suyao said.

The Safety Seal Certification is a voluntary certification program which guarantees that the establishment is compliant with the minimum public health and safety standards set by the government.

In line with DOLE-DOH-DILG-DOT-DTI- Joint Memorandum Circular No. 21-01, Series of 2021, DOLE issues the Safety Seal for various industries such as manufacturing, construction sites, utilities (electric, water, gas, air conditioning supply, sewerage, waste management), information and communication companies (private publication, news, movie production, TV and radio companies) and warehouses.
