CALAPAN CITY, ORIENTAL MINDORO – DOLE MIMAROPA, led by Regional Director Joffrey M. Suyao, conducted the 2021 Kalayaan Job and Business fair on 12 June 2021 for all aspiring job seekers of the MIMAROPA Region.
The 2021 Kalayaan Job and Business fair was organized in partnership with employment website Workbank and the Public Employment Service Offices in the region as highlight of the expanded Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan (TNK) activities of DOLE, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
The virtual landing page was also a mini one-stop shop for the public. Participating agencies also included the MIMAROPA representatives of the National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB), Overseas Workers Welfare Association (OWWA), Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), National Wage and Productivity Commission (NWPC), Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC), Employee’s Compensation Commission (ECC), Social Security System (SSS), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (Philhealth), PagIBIG Fund Services, Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA),
For the three – day job fair. Event partner Workbank reported a total of 2,499 applicants registered to search for jobs the available job vacancies, such as online English tutors, production operators, customer and technical representatives (BPO), financial advisors, linemen, unit managers and drivers.
“DOLE MIMAROPA decided to open the job fair link 2 days than the event date in order to accommodate the requests of job seekers to check the available vacancies. It also gave the employers more time to process the applications.” RD Suyao said.
All qualified applicants to the position being applied for were subjected to further interview and evaluation or required to submit additional pre-employment documents. Other applicants who failed to secure interview slots due to limited time may still continue to engage with the participating employers even after the event through the job matching service of Workbank.
