SAN JOSE, OCCIDENTAL MINDORO – On 17 November 2021, DOLE Occidental Mindoro Field Office awarded its first Safety Seal Certificate to Occidental Mindoro Consolidated Power Corporation (OMCPC) held at Brgy. Central, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.

To contain the spread of COVID-19 and prevent future surges, there is a need to enforce strict and continual compliance with the minimum public health standards especially in business establishments and public places.

The certificate was awarded by DOLE MIMAROPA RD Naomi Lyn C. Abellana and OccMin Field Office Head Bernardo B. Toriano to OMCPC Plant Head, Mr. Edgardo Cruz, EHS Officer Engr. Rustan Victor C. Cometa, HR/Admin Manager Ms. Josefina Miranda, and Ms. Honeylette Pojas, company nurse. It was also awarded in the presence the newly hired personnel of the plant.

“We, at OMCPC are dedicated to protecting our employees and comply with all the regulations set by the government. We do not just give what is due to the workers but also care for them by ensuring their safety and health in the workplace”, said Ms. Miranda.

RD Abellana lauded the company’s continued compliance and that they may set an example to other establishments as safety champions in the region.

The Safety Seal Certification is a voluntary certification scheme that affirms that an establishment is compliant with the minimum public health standards set by the government and uses or integrates its contact tracing with StaySafe.ph.

The DOLE issues the Safety Seal for the manufacturing, construction sites, utilities (electric, water, gas, air conditioning supply, sewerage, waste management), Information and Communication companies (private publication, news, movie production, TV and radio companies), warehouses, and Information Technology – Business Process Management establishments.

To date, four (4) more establishments signified their interest to apply for safety seal certificate in the province. Other interested establishments may apply through https://reports.dole.gov.ph/.
