BULALACAO, ORIENTAL MINDORO – The Department of Labor and Employment thru its Oriental Mindoro Field Office conducted a Workers Organization and Development Program (WODP) Training to the two (2) DOLE-Assisted Workers Association in Bulalacao last November 9, 2021.

The training was held at Campaasan, Bulalacao which was attended by fifty-eight (58) members of Samahan ng Manggagawa ng Balatasan and twenty-seven (27) members of Samahan ng mga Mangingisda at Magsasaka ng Pocanil. The topics focused on the DOLE guidelines on COVID-19 Prevention and Control, latest OSH Issuances and Family Welfare Program.

Mr. Francisco S. Sales III, LEO III, discussed the topic on DOLE-DTI Guidelines on Workplace Prevention and Control of COVID-19 wherein participants learned the duties and responsibilities of employer and employees such as screening, testing, disinfection, contact tracing and referral.

Mr. Edralin B. Magcalayo, Senior LEO, discussed the topic on Safety Seal Certification Program, Guidelines on Ventilation for Workplaces and other latest OSH Issuances related to COVID-19 prevention and control.

Mr. Ramezes R. Torres, Senior LEO, discussed the Department’s Family Welfare Program focusing on the fundamental principles of a good marriage life, responsible parenthood and family planning.

The Workers Organization Development Program or WODP is one of the flagship program of DOLE which aims to develop the capabilities of workers and their organization in order to perform their roles effectively and efficiently towards the promotion of trade unionism, worker’s empowerment and sound labor-management relations and occupational safety and health in the workplace.
