SOCORRO, ORIENTAL MINDORO – After working for ten days, covering the period July 1-11, 2019 in social community project, 480 beneficiaries received their salary in the amount of Php3,200 each.

This short-term employment is under DOLE’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Program. Under this program, workers are provided short-term or emergency employment in social community projects which include repair, maintenance, and/or improvement of common public facilities and infrastructure, debris clearing, de-clogging of canals, debris segregation and materials recovery, stockpiling and clearing.

The beneficiaries highly appreciated the presence of DOLE Regional Director Joel Gonzales and Socorro Municipal Mayor Ma. Fe “Bubut” V. Brondial during such payment on Saturday, 20 July 2019.

Moroever, DOLE Oriental Mindoro Field Office staff Mr. Ramezes R. Torres, Ms. Joyce Ann A. Vasquez, Ms. Rowena M. Lacuarta headed by Engr. Juliana H. Ortega administered such payment providing a total of Php1,536,000.00 for all the workers.
