The Department of Labor and Employment MIMAROPA Region through the Occidental Mindoro Field Office successfully conducted the 1st Quarter Meeting of the Occidental Mindoro PESO Managers Association held on February 26, 2021 at Santa Cruz, Occidental Mindoro.
Strictly observing the minimum health protocols, the meeting sought to strengthen the roles of the PESO managers in delivering its core services on employment facilitation, as well as to update them on the employment recovery strategies of the national government.
During the opening, DOLE Occidental Mindoro Provincial Director Bernardo B. Toriano thanked the PESO Managers for their unceasing dedication during the delivery of DOLE’s services to the affected workers amid challenges brought by COVID-19, thus delivering employment facilitation services beyond the targets for 2020.

“It is in this condition that we must endeavor to adapt to the challenges and deliver immediate and effective response to ensure the continuity of public service. Let us build more our courage and humanness, quick thinking, creativity, and innovation. Public servants must turn the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic into an opportunity for devising strategies for strengthening the resilience, effectiveness, and responsiveness of the public service.” Atty Suyao said.
The activity also serves as a venue for the awarding of the Certificate of Recognition to PESO Sablayan, represented by Ms. Gracia Z. Fille, as the regional winner of the 2019 Search for BEST PESO under the 1st Class Municipality Category.
Other highlights of the program were the presentation of targets for the Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES) per municipality/employer, National Employment Recovery Strategy (NERS), DOLE-DOT COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP) BAYANIHAN 2, Updates on OWWA Programs and Services, Updates on DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP) and presentation of PESO accomplishments for the year 2020.
