ODIONGAN, ROMBLON – DOLE MIMAROPA through its Romblon Field Office granted livelihood assistance to 2 ambulant vendors with total amount of Php47,199.00 on 29 December 2022 and 18 January 2023 at the DOLE Romblon Field Office, Odiongan, Romblon.

The first beneficiary Ms. Fabriquier, was awarded with a pangkabuhayan package amounting to Php17,199.00 for her kakanin selling business and Ms. Fernando was awarded with a Nego-Kart amounting to Php30,000.00 for her street food selling business. They graciously accepted the working capital in terms of tools, equipment, and raw materials.
Recipient of the DILP expressed their gratefulness for the grant assistance, stating that these will have a significant impact in their lives. Ms. Fabriquier said that this will contribute to their financial needs for the education of her children and a source of their day-to-day basic needs. ”Ako po ay nagpapasalamat sa binigay sa akin na livelihood sapagkat malaking tulong ito sa aking paghahanap-huhay”, said Ms. Fernando as she thanked the Department.

“The beneficiaries are both now reaping the fruit of their labors as a result of being good stewards of their chosen enterprise and the DOLE-assisted program became a part in their success. To continue the department’s mandate to support the unprivileged in the community, a continuous program for sustainable livelihood that unfold opportunities for economic growth and generate jobs has to be implemented in the Province of Romblon.” Said DOLE Romblon Field Office Head, Dr. Carlo B. Villaflores.

The DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) is a stepping stone for a start-up business, as well as enhancement of existing business and restore damaged livelihoods due to unforeseen circumstances like calamities primarily given to deserving group of individuals which belongs to the vulnerable and marginalized workers in the society who has acquired entrepreneurship potentials and skills.
