BOAC, MARINDUQUE – The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) MIMAROPA Region, in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment Marinduque field office conducts a 2-day training on Service quality and Lean Management last July 9-10, 2019 at Good Chow Food Express. Attended by 65 participants from various enterprises, the activity is response to the commitment of mainstreaming a culture of improving enterprise productivity, quality and timeliness on delivery of goods and services.

Mr. Peter James D. Cortazar, Field Office Head of DOLE Marinduque, delivered his introductory message stressing that such training provides an opportunity for systematic growth aiming at greater productivity, prosperity and welfare to employer, worker’s organization and its members and dependents. “Creation of service quality improvement team will help to oversee or perhaps monitor program implementation, documentation of improvement results, and sustenance for continuous development of service quality best practices as service quality in the job of entire organization”, Mr. Cortazar said.

RTWPB Board Secretary VI Mr. Romeo E. Opis, expounded and boosted the two topics by engaging the participants in an intensive discussion and activity. He led the participants in activities like action planning workshop, paper plane making exercise and mapping the customers experience workshop.

               Moreover, as RTWPB’s main function is to aid the increase of wages of workers in private sectors, Mr. Opis described that service quality refers to all the supports that the customer expects from the service or product. He also tackled topic about lean management/lean manufacturing. “As lean thinking continues to spread to every country in the world, leaders are also adapting the tools and principles beyond manufacturing, to logistics and distribution, services, retail, healthcare, construction, maintenance and even government,” Mr. Opis said.
